Musicbox is Peter's first general-audience release since 1999's Romeo's Garage. If you've been seeing Peter on tour lately, you'll have heard many of the songs on this album. Produced by Jay Oliver (who also produced Green Eyed Radio), Peter once again weaves his magic and presents a collection of songs that touches your soul as only he can.
Peter Mayer's Musicbox CD continues to mine the rich vein of great writing and playing that had already earned him the stature of being among the most played artists on Radio Margaritaville. Brilliant songs... prove to Peter's faithful fans that his growth as an artist goes on and on. I continue to marvel at how great his music is... Peter Mayer's Musicbox will touch deeply both those who have been waiting patiently for it, and those who for whom it is an introduction to him and his music.

Peter has hit an absolute home run with Musicbox. This is fabulous stuff! As I was listening, I opened the liner jacket and followed the lyrics to each song. Peter has bared his soul with some of the most thoughtful lyrics I have ever heard. A real masterpiece and a must for anyone who appreciates the immense talents of Peter Mayer.
Once again Peter proves to us that he is a stellar singer, songwriter and guitarist. This sneak-peak leaves the listener wanting even more as Peter proves he belongs in the same class as the James Taylors and Stings of the music world.

"The Last Island" is simply fantastic and should quickly prove to be one of Peter's best songs ever. "Good To Have A Friend" and "Every Morning" are wonderfully reminiscent of the latter tracks of Romeo's Garage. Once again, he has surrounded himself with outstanding musicians and he lets them shine as well.
I got this album for a Christmas present from my guitar player. Having never heard of Peter Mayer before, I pulled one of those "ohhhh.. thanks a lot... how nice" with as much of a smile as I could muster. Turns out that it was the best present I got! This is one of the best recordings I have ever heard. I am definately hooked. I'm a sucker for great vocals and Peter is one of the most pleasant sounding vocalists I have heard since James Taylor. Two resounding thumbs up!
